Recreation
A winding mountain trail. Trout flashing through a crystal stream. The crunch of fresh powder under your skis. The White Mountains speak to you in a million different ways. All saying the same thing:
Come out and play.
Hiking & Biking
Lace up your boots and grab your backpack. Throw on your biking shorts and strap on your helmet. Ride, run or walk the trails within Show Low Bluff, and explore more trails in the contiguous Sitgreaves National Forest on the White Mountain Trail System, with over 180 miles of multi-use trail loops, most interconnected.
Hunting & Fishing
The lakes, rivers and streams of the White Mountains teem with a variety of high-country fish, including rainbow, cutthroat, brown and brook trout as well as Apache trout, found only in Arizona. They share the water with Arctic grayling, northern pike, bass, walleye, catfish and more. The fields and forests abound with elk, deer, antelope and other fauna. Arizona Department of Game & Fish is the resource for all types of White Mountain sporting challenges.
Skiing & Winter Sports
Not far from Show Low, Sunrise Park Resort ranks among the best ski areas in the Southwest, with more than a dozen runs over three mountains for beginners and experts alike. Cross-country skiing in the White Mountains includes specially designated Nordic trails. And the world of winter recreation also offers snowmobiling, snowshoeing and the fun of sledding and tubing.
